American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI)
Gatekeeper home inspectors are members of ASHI, the oldest, most respected society of home inspectors. The Principal of Gatekeeper Inspections, Brian Koepf, was the 229th inspector to join ASHI in 1979, he has held many leadership positions in the organization, including serving on the National Technical Committee, and helped to write ASHI’s Standards of Practice.
Northern Virginia Chapter of ASHI
Gatekeeper home inspectors are active members of the NOVA ASHI chapter, which keeps the company in the middle of the latest training, education, and local home trends. This award-winning local chapter of ASHI is dedicated to promoting excellence within the home inspection profession and to improving service to consumers through adhering to the ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Brian Koepf, Principal of Gatekeeper Inspections, has served on NOVA ASHI committees and on the Board of Directors.
Virginia Association of Real Estate Inspectors
Gatekeeper home inspectors are active members of VAREI. VAREI is the voice for Virginia home inspectors and consumers in statewide issues. Members protect the standards that regulate professional inspectors and the interests of the public.
Real Estate Agent Continuing Education Proprietary School
Approved by the State of Virginia’s Real Estate Board as a Real Estate Proprietary School (License #0211000425), Gatekeeper Inspections offers continuing education courses for real estate agents (see section on Education/Training.)
Certified Residential Mold Inspector (CRMI)
Brian Koepf, Principal of Gatekeeper Inspections, is a Certified Residential Mold Inspector. This requires successful completion of coursework, training, testing, and adherence to membership guidelines under ACAC (.org). All other Gatekeeper inspectors hold Level 1Infrared Camera Certification used for finding mold and moisture in concealed areas in basements and wall cavities, and are certified in mold remediation.
Mold Remediation
All Gatekeeper inspectors have been trained in mold remediation by the IAQA Institute, so are well qualified to advise clients on the remediation aspect of mold in their homes. Certificates: #00948 and #00951

Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA)
The IAQA was established in 1995 to promote uniform standards, procedures and protocol in the indoor air quality industry.
All Gatekeeper inspectors have been trained in mold remediation by the IAQA Institute, so are well qualified to advise clients on the remediation aspect of mold in their homes. Certificates: #00948 and #00951
National Radon Safety Board Certification
Brian Koepf is certified by the NRSB as a Radon Measurement Specialist, a step above others who are only qualified to place radon testers and who must send them to independent laboratories to have them read. Brian is qualified to place, read, and interpret the results. Gatekeeper Inspections has an accredited radon laboratory, which means you receive quick results directly from us.

Energy
Brian Koepf is RESNET trained and has trained all Gatekeeper Inspectors to his high standards. All inspectors are trained in the use of blower doors and hold Level 1 Infrared Camera Certification used for measuring energy loss areas in homes and commercial buildings.
Insurance
Gatekeeper Inspections, Inc., meets all insurance requirements for VA and MD. D.C. has no requirements at this time.
